The following groupings of breeds by size are a guide only and there will be variations within each breed, particularly with differences netween male and female dogs. To assist in the grouping we have averaged the size of each breed across both the male and female accepted sizes and then used the median size for that breed. Each profile also provides a silouette of each breed against a 6 foot tall (182cm) person to give an idea of actual sizing, however these are also only a guide and there may be slight variations within each breed.
