We have been using our new site design for a couple of months now and a our new directories for a little longer... The Saluki is a graceful balance of beauty and function. Salukis are typically 24-29 inches tall at the shoulder and generally weigh between 40 and 65 pounds. Salukis are swift, agile, and very graceful in motion. As a member of the sight hound group, the Saluki hunts by sight, not scent. They were bred to be long distance runners, having both speed and endurance, whereas their cousins, the greyhound and the whippet, were bred to be short distance sprinters. Salukis have been clocked at over 45mph.....

Oneof the disciplines that we can compete in here in Australia is the "E.T." or Endurance Test.

EnduranceTests are a really enjoyable activity in which you and your dog canparticipate. You don't have to have a "show" dog to do it, the onlyrequirements are that you be a member of the Victorian Canine Association (orinterstate equivalent), and that your dog is registered with the VictorianCanine Association (or interstate equivalent) . Also, your dog can be noyounger than two years of age, and no older than eight years of age.
