Great story, thanks for posting this. It just goes to show how people can wrongly accuse not only humans but also dogs.

Cheers

Dogs shouldn't be considered a dangerous dog for nothing. Some dogs would bark aggressively and growl at people but it doesn't mean they are going to bite them. But then a question is nagging at me, when will a dog be considered dangerous then?

What if a dog actually is dangerous and people are saying it isn't because it hasn't bitten anyone yet. Is that supposed to bring comfort to us?

A few interesting points and I think they are what most authorities are struggling with.

Having had dogs in the past that were very good guard dogs they would bark at those that came to close to our property but they would not jump over the fence to attack. Does that make them aggressive, no, but who decides that us as the owner, the person walking past or the authority that regulates the policies and laws?

Some dogs can even be very stable, very quite and then all of a sudden lash out.

Our bunch of 6 border collies we have now are all different and will bark at different things and also together, none of them are aggressive in any way, but does that mean they will always be that way, I believe so but I cannot guarantee that, things change, someone might step hard on their tale or someone might be stupid and cause one of our dogs to lash out - anything is possible..

So again where is the line in the sand between what dogs are aggressive and which are not. We cannot wait until the dog bites someone first, but at the same time we do not want to cage every dog just in case. So what do we do?

Lots of thinking to do on this one...
