Hi Toni (kellytaz), Glad you found us!

We've got two dogs and two cats inside so I can relate to your comment about the amount of hair on the floor, but to be honest, I figure if I have to clean up after one I might as well clean up after more

Please feel free to add photos of your Schipperke to the photo gallery if you have any you would like to share.

Cheers

Michelle

Hi all,

We are breeders of Australian Shepherds (Cuebiyar) as well as running our own online and mobile (dog show) pet supplies store (Wigglebum).

Re the hair everywhere, apart from trying to have minimal carpet at home, with the number of dogs we have we're pretty much resigned to it. At least long haired breeds only tend to shed once or twice a year rather than constantly.

Re the Catahoulas, from the photos I've seen they look similar to the German Coolie, which while definitely in Australia are not (yet) a recognised breed, although they appear to have a bit more of the Australian Cattle Dog's muscle?

Regards,
Ben Helps.

Hi,

Thought I better come and introduce myself and my dogs. My names Vicky and I have owned Goldens for the last 9years. I have 5 that live with me, Bailley, Logan, Bronte, Tori & Kuga they vairy in age from nearly 8years down to 8months. My addiction has also spread to other family members with my parents having Tyson, Tyson lived with us until my parents lost their 16yr old dog & wanted another but not a puppy, Tyson was ideal and lives the life of luxury with them, he has them very well trained. My niece has Laynee (Logans daughter), my cousins have Luke & Briggs (Logan's son's) & then we have Lara. Lara was meant to be here with us but came to us as an older dog and didn't like to share toys with the others, as she holds a very important part to our future breeding program I was lucky enough to place her with a dear friend where Lara is much happier being able to have all her toys to herself. We also have 2 chickens (use to be more but a nasty Fox got in), 1 indian ring neck Parrot & 1 quail.

I have shown on and off over the past 4years but due to my family being young found it to difficult, I have become more regular at shows over the past 6months and proud to say Kuga is doing very well at only 8months of age.

I look forward to investigating more of the site and getting to know you all,
Vicky www.loganbaygoldens.com

Hi and welcome Ben and Vicky!

Vicky, I know what you mean about the difficulty of showing with a young family...that is why I stopped showing my JRT's, its just too difficult when the kids a re little. But now that ours are older, I am hoping to start competing in agility with Taj when he is old enough (LOL I"m getting a bit ahead of myslef, he has had all of two puppy foundation classes before Christmas, but he';s only five months old, so we have time yet).

Ben, have you tried the Furminator? I've seen the highly recommended on oversease forums, and was thinking of getting one to help with the coat blowing next season. LOL Taj is our first long haired dogs and although Tia seems to shed enough for two or three dogs, I am sure Taj's BC coat will be a bit of a shock

Whoops sorry, not sure how I missed this one. Yep we are doing the puppy foundation course with ACWA, last week Taj went over all the equipment (baby size) that he hadn't been on before without any problems, oh except for the chute until we opened the end then he barrelled through. Even the baby teeter (which I didn't realise would bang when it came down) but other than looking quizzically at the end of the plank, it didn't faze him.

ACWA have a really good puppy agility program - so Taj is certainly in very good hands.

Hey Ben,

If I didn't have a BC I could nearly go an Aussie. Welcome to the boards. My friend in Melbourne is intending to be an Aussie breeder (she has 2 presently but her girl isn't that old yet).

Yep that would be her - Leo and Kinta. She tells me they are lazy but I don't believe her in the slightest - do you think her ears are burning.
