What is "My Profile" and "Member Menu"? PDF Print E-mail

When you have created a membership and logged in to Dogsites, a "Member Menu" will appear on the left of your screen above the "Main Menu".

The "Member Menu" allows you to access your profile and messages from other Dogsites members as well as submit articles to the Article Library, Submit a link to your website and also "Link to Dogsites" to obtain code and/or images to place on your website that link back to Dogsites.

My Profile

Your Profile page is really easy to use (even for people with minimal computer experience) and if you have a look through it in conjunction with this FAQ, it is fairly well self explanatory.

Your profile allows to add a photo and share information about yourself and your dogs, hobbies, interests, business and activities.

Click on the "My Profile" button.

Mouse Over the "Edit" button - use the drop down buttons to edit your profile and add or delete your profile image (this image will show on your forum posts and in your "Friend Connections").

The "Edit - Update Profile" option allows your to change the following:

Forum settings - how the forum displays to you personally, and also your forum signature.

Tab Management: Allows you to choose which tabs are available for viewing in your profile. If you don't have listings such as a Judges Directory or Club Listing, simply select "Me Only" and that tab will no longer be visable.

The Tabs that appear at the bottom of your profile help you to keep track of your listings, forum posts, article submissions, classified ads, video submissions etc that you have on Dogsites. Each Tab also allows you to make new entries directly from your Profile page.

The "Biography" tab lets you share information about yourself, your dogs, hobbies, dog activities, dog business, hobbies and other favourite information (only if you want to, but sharing will build a community spirit!). at the very least, we suggest putting in your dog breed/s ("Under Favourites" as this is listed next to your username in the member profiles and will help other members with the same breed/s connect with you.

"Personal Info" tab - other than your username, name, password and email, the information in this section is optional. Your real name and email address are NOT visable to the public.

"Profile Book" - this is your own personal guestbook wher people can leave you comments (and where you can leave comments on other people profiles. You can select to have this option enabled or not, automatically published or not and for you to receive notification when an entry is made to your own Profile Book.

Look out for new features being added to the Profile section soon!
